Watch: Kanye's 'All Of The Lights" Video

You like Kanye's new album? You like looking at Rihanna's side-boob (and inside side-boob)? You like the opening sequence to Gaspar Noe's film 'Enter The Void'? You like the fact that Fergie's verse isn't in the video? You like epilepsy-inducing flashing lights?... then you might like this:

New: Nicolas Jaar

This 21 year old DJ, based in New York, just released his debut album on February 14th. It's quirky, and genre-spanning and it won't suit everyone's tastes, however after just a couple of listens I can tell you that it's a journey that grows on you. Nicolas works best when he's manipulating simple beats and melodies around holes of silence or minimal noise. I also love how natural sounds, like rain or childrens voices, gradually become part of the album. Below I have selected two of my favourite tracks off the album, but you really should give the album a chance from start till finish... Enjoy

New: Body Language

This is a little musical nugget of funk-pop that's been in my headphones a lot lately. Body Language are based in Brooklyn, NY and it shows through in the indie-hipster feel to this EP. It's a solid 4 track album and definitely deserves some attention. Body Language follow the same boy/girl vocalist style of other groups such as The xx, and Phantogram, and I like it... Enjoy

New: The Wombats

I saw The Wombats in concert a couple of years ago, just after the buzz of their debut album had hit it's peak. During the gig they played a few new songs but then I never heard anything more from them, until earlier today when I happened to be listening to BBC Radio 1 on sattelite radio... this is their new single, but I'm not sure if there will be a full album to follow. Personally, I'm glad that The Wombats are back with something new, check it out below... Enjoy

Under the Covers: Teen Daze + Japandroids

I like it when bands cover songs that aren't that well known in the first place, and then both of the versions become better for it. Teen Daze give the Japandroids the washed out, synth-pop treatment on this one... Enjoy

The Black Keys - 'Howlin For You' Video

The Black Keys have released some very entertaining music videos in the past, and this is definitely one of them. It's a mock preview for a B-Grade movie that I probably would check out if it existed. Look out for the weird cameo from snowboarder Shaun White... Enjoy

Ben L'Oncle Soul - Seven Nation Army (Cover)

Those who know me know I LOVE me a good cover. I've got playlist upon playlist dedicated to them. The kind of covers that takes you far far far away from the original but still stay true to what made the original so great - all the while taking the song to a completely different level. Case in point, Ben L'Oncle Soul's cover of The White Stripe's 'Seven Nation Army'. The guy killllllls it. It's funky, up-tempo classic Motown feel got me feeling good this Wednesday. Enjoy!

New: Paper Diamond

So this is the third time I'll be blogging about the Colorado-based DJ Alex B, however from here on out you will refer to him as his new alias Paper Diamond. I'm not sure what the reason behind the name is but along with the name there has also been a shift in the music stylings. Paper Diamond's debut EP 'Levitate' represents a shift to a more bass-driven, raw, high energy offering. Alex B was already a DJ that was hard to pigeon-hole into a specific genre, and Paper Diamond is a further representation of his dynamic musical character. You can download the complete EP for free at the Pretty Lights Music website, and you can check out my favourite track below... Enjoy

Check these out

So I was recommended by my Dad to check out this new show called Portlandia and, on top of it being very funny and entertaining, I have recently become slightly obsessed with the song that plays over the opening credits. The track is from US DJ Washed Out's 2009 EP and it's called 'Feel It All Around'. It's one of those perfect chillout tracks that you would love to hear on a lazy, sunny afternoon, and Portlandia is a great new TV show. Check them both out... Enjoy
